About Me

I’m the Head of Engineering at Homeward, where we’re re-envisioning the real estate purchasing experience, starting with innovative financing options for homebuyers. I spent about a decade as an engineer at both startups and large enterprises before moving into engineering management beginning in 2018. I believe you get high performance engineering by hiring conscientious people and creating a compassionate, empathetic culture.

I’m a founding Director of the PyTexas Foundation, a 501(c)(3) Texas nonprofit corporation organized to support the Python community in Texas. We do this primarily via the PyTexas conference, which I help lead. I’m mostly in charge of funding, so if you’re interested in getting in front of 200+ Texas Python developers, I’m interested in talking to you.

I hold a BA in Philosophy (2008) and an MS in Software Engineering (2016), both from UT Austin.

You can get in touch with me via Twitter or old-fashioned email (my.first.name AT this.domain). LinkedIn is a lesser third option.

I am lucky to be partnered with an amazing wife, Lydia, in Austin, Texas. We have one daughter. I like to play softball, eat lots of tacos, and drink beer.
